Task Force Black is ISIS' Worst Nightmare

  Words by Frank Thomas.

DISCLAIMER: This story is speculative as recent reports have NOT been confirmed.

In response to the brutal murder of the American citizen James Foley, Task Force Black was formed.  This group combines British and US Special Forces with the primary agenda of putting an end to the Islamic terrorist group responsible for the current devastation by taking out the command.  These operations will be focused against IS in both Syria and Iraq.  Task Force Black consists of British SAS, US Navy SEALs and Delta Force Operators with help from the CIA’s Special Activities Division; in other words… the Varsity Team.

The objective of the Elite American teams will be to go after the IS leader Abu bakr al-Baghdadi with the hopes of weakening the group's control over the region. The primary problem with this is that the extremist organization is not based on an army, rather in an ideology. If one leader is removed then another with the same ideals will be put into his place to take over.  The possibility is present that the new leader will not be accepted by the group which would cause fracturing and splintering, creating weaker factions that could end up fighting one another. The British forces role in the mission will be to concentrate on capturing approximately 500 British citizens that have declared Jihad by joining the Islamic state in Iraq and Syria. By completing this mission they are hoping to gain intelligence on the workings of Western foreign fighters facilitating the Islamic state and possibly discover the location of “Jihadi John” who is believed to be the executioner of James Foley.

The United States, of course, has wanted to initiate open operations in Syria for quite some time. This desire was spurred on by the suspicious chemical weapons attack that happened over a year ago, however, the American people were in no way supportive of this intervention because of the lack of evidence surrounding the attack.  Now that the United States has watched the Islamic State build up momentum in Syria and demolish Iraqi soldiers (including obtaining large stockpiles of military equipment and powerful weaponry as well as execute security forces, innocent civilians and children), the entire world is ready to put an end to the terror.

It is not the intention of President Obama or Prime Minister Cameron to send large groups of American and British troops. Instead smaller teams of Special Forces will be joining local militias to carry out the tasks. US and British troops will be training Kurdish Peshmerga fighters to aid in the operation. Britain will be supplying the fighters with nonlethal equipment such as body armor and night vision.

Measures have already been taken to create a network of spies and informers who will be supplying Task Force Black with critical human intelligence.  Both US and British spy planes will be listening in on this intelligence as well as listening on mobile devices to pinpoint locations of the IS commanders. Operations are also underway to capture middle-ranking IS commanders for interrogation by the CIA. Plans for attacks by dropping troops from “silent” helicopters have been made as well. Some say that it is essential to develop a network of information to take down a network of terrorists.  One thing is certain:  We are in a much better place now than we were before 9/11.  Our military is already geared up and trained to fight this very threat.  Let's see what these guys can do.
